Alyson Simms

Alyson (Shabad Atma Kaur) Simms, RYT, started practicing yoga in 2001, following her courage, intuition, and desire to live more deeply. Yoga immediately ignited her True Self. For many years, she studied, read, and practiced various facets of yoga: hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga, restorative, yoga nidra, trance dance, and some good old-fashioned sitting quietly on the floor.

However, it was Kundalini as taught by Yogi Bhajan that intrigued her the most.

In 2006, Alyson entered Kundalini Teacher Training, because she knew it would be her passion to share this technique with others. Alyson is a true teacher, having taught English for many years before becoming a yoga teacher. She has her 200 RYT certification and is currently studying for her 500-hour level certification. In the last 10 years, her practice has taken her around the world to do, study, and teach yoga.

Remaining strong in her foundation, Alyson's personal evolution always brings fresh energy to her teaching. Embodying all aspects of being human, Alyson is able to bridge the gap between the realm of spirit and the time/space continuum. Her classes are powerful, fluid, and fulfilling to the soul. She encourages her students to live to their highest potential with courage and loving kindness. You can expect Alyson's classes to be infused with an intensity of spirit, sacred space, real life experiences, and some yummy Shakti coziness. You might be shown a mirror and pushed to your edge with compassion and love, all the while being reminded to laugh.

Alyson also has a Level 1 certification in Sat Nam Rasayan, the healing modality of Kundalini. She has studied intuitive, energetic, and hands-on healing modalities since 2007, including Chelation Therapy, Reiki, Organ Cleansing, Healing Stone Therapy, and Thai Foot Reflexology. Her expertise in healing is evident in the sacred space she creates in her classes.

Alyson's other interests include world traveling, dancing, writing, healing stones, and photography. She also owns and runs the business Atma Imports, which supplies spiritual products to those wishing to deepen their path.

Yoga Introduction Class: Kundalini for Beginners

Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan is designed so you can become aware of your self, your body, your spirit. The practice of Kundalini yoga rejuvenates the body, strengthens the nervous system, and soothes the mind. Come to this Beginner Kundalini class to learn more about the benefits of this ancient technique. You will learn breath-work, proper stretching, mudras (hand positions) and how to combine all these together to create a meditative focus.
